Army Navy Country Club Winter Wedding – Congratulations Chelsea and Pierce!
A winter wedding comes with unique challenges, like the weather and very early sunsets making for in the dark pictures. But, a December wedding with all the Christmas decor, greenery and twinkling lights, is magical! This Navy couple chose a Christmas wedding, coming together in Washington DC from their Navy jobs apart in TX and HI. And while they didn’t get their hoped for snow, they did get a sunny day and Christmas decor galore, and most importantly they are married! A beautiful ceremony followed by a saber arch, then fun, family and friends to dance the night away at the Army Navy Country Club reception – and so many pictures of memories to cherish. Congratulations Chelsea and Pierce!
Pierce chose his dad to be his Best Man. It’s so nice to see generations of family stay so close.
Everyone looked wonderful, the men in uniform and tuxes and the bridesmaids in classic black with each maid choosing the dress style she found most flattering. Chelsea’s Oscar de la Renta ball gown was so elegant. You’d never know her day job is training to be a Navy pilot!
Layers and layers of tulle to straighten. That’s when bridesmaids are put to work!
Winter weddings also come with unique accessories. Like long leather gloves and a fur stole. So classy!
This church was just adorable and beautiful at the same time!
The saber arch is always a nice tradition. I love the hint of blue left in the sky. All the portraits were taken after dark, a unique challenge for a photographer. Lots of video light, off camera flash and reflectors to create the portraits.
The ballroom at the Army Navy Country Club was stunning! All the Christmas trees and greenery and lights and then every table had a unique winter themed centerpiece.
This Swedish cookie tower hid a bottle of champaign and I’m told was considered to be the grooms cake. And some of it was eaten.
The first dance after being announced into the reception to greet their friends and family for the first time as husband and wife!
It’s always a little tricky cutting the cake with a saber!
So much dancing fun was had by all! DJ Dan is really the best and dialed in what this group liked and kept them dancing for hours!
A sparkler send off for the newly married couple.
