Leesburg, VA Family Photographer at 48 Fields

This family of 5 ventured out to the country with me to 48 Fields near Leesburg for family pictures.  The country property is an old dairy farm that another photographer generously allowed us to use.  It was so nice to be able to shoot during those golden light hours in the evening and to set up an off camera flash not usually allowed in public spaces.  And the kids had the freedom to run, swing, and be themselves.  The location is an important foundation to a successful session.
I hadn’t photographed Joe, Brianna and Josh in almost a year and a half and couldn’t believe how much they had grown!  It was fun to work with them again and capture their personalities and relationships within the family. 

A lesson from Dad in how to whistle with a blade of grass.  One of those fascinating things only Dad’s seem to be able to do.  I love a sunset silhouette.  This picture shows the beautiful old dairy farm, and the freedom of kids in the county (racing back to the swing, of course). 

Here’s an example of the above image straight out of the camera.  In Lightroom I was able to transform the image to reflect the warm glow of the setting sun and highlight the children.  If this image is going to be printed large, it will receive more detailed retouching to really make it magical.
