Alexandria River Farm Wedding – Congratulations Emily and Charlie!

Emily and Charlie were married on a bright, sunny, but slightly chilly, fall day at River Farm in Alexandria, VA.  I love how they thoughtfully brought in family traditions and other touches that were fully “them”.  Charlie wore his boots, which ties in with the country band that played for the dancing.  Emily loves pie, another family tradition, so no wedding cake in favor of a beautiful selection of pies.  And a few Jewish traditions from Emily’s family were incorporated too – the signing of the Ketubah, the breaking of the glass and the Hora.  The bride and groom each have a sister and brother which served as their wedding party. They also had a good friend officiate the ceremony which made it special and personal.  It was a beautiful celebration as they start their married lives together. Congratulations Emily and Charlie!

The reveal – so sweet!
The meadow at River Farm is a gorgeous spot in the autumn!
Milk glass and antique bottles filled with garden flowers, burlap runners and sliced tree trunks graced the tables.

River Farm Fall Wedding – Congratulations Deb and Rich!

Deb and Rich were married in a garden ceremony on a breezy fall Friday at River Farm in Alexandria, VA.  Deb’s style is easy but so elegant.  The second portrait below, with her hair blowing in the breeze, captures how naturally beautiful she is!

The wedding featured fun personal touches, from the attendance of their dogs, to the surprise groom’s Florida State cake.  As a former football player, the groom’s gift to the men in attendance was a football featuring the wedding details – which of course the guys needed to throw around “for pictures”.  Maybe the “garnet and gold” wedding decore was also a subtle nod to Florida State rather than the autumn season…  The tented reception with gold chiavari chairs and fall colored flower arrangements was gorgeous!

Washington DC baby photographer – Ava

Baby Ava was a trouper!  This super long newborn post goes with an equally long photo shoot.  She slept the entire time, without even a whimper as she was moved around from one pose and prop to another (we did stop for one feeding). A baby photographer’s dream!  Lots of girly pictures for Mom and a few sports inspired poses for Dad.  Isn’t she beautiful?
