Arlington, VA Elopement Photographer – Nick and Melissa are Married!

You may remember Nick and Melissa’s engagement when Nick surprised Melissa on her birthday by proposing after dinner at 1789. Which was followed by a little shoot in Georgetown.

Now they’ve eloped and I was there to document the day they officially began their lives as husband and wife. After a sweet little ceremony in Arlington, we traveled to Old Town Alexandria for a fun shoot to celebrate their happiness. It’s been a joy to be along to witness these monumental days in their lives. Congratulations you two!

She’s Here! – My niece London Kate

Here’s what was happening in July – London Kate arrived on July 4th! I spent most of the month in Florida, enjoying her and her big brothers. These pictures were taken from day 5 through 23. She’s a super smily sleeper, which hopefully bodes well for her temperament! Big brothers are totally smitten, well we all are, actually! And baby girl clothes are SO cute! Yes, after the initial “naked newborn” pictures, there are a few at the end with clothes on (after she was 3 weeks old). So, indulge this proud Aunt in a very long post introducing London!

Old Town Alexandria Family Photographer – Owen

This shoot was supposed to be all about 1 year old Owen, but he ended up sharing his time a bit with his family since they were all able to come along for the Old Town Alexandria photo shoot. I last photographed this family a little over three and a half years ago. I don’t realize how much time has gone by until I see how big kids grow, it happens so fast! Biggest brother, Cameron, has already lost several teeth! Baby brother, Owen, is such a smily little guy toddling around. And you must scroll down to see his eyelashes! It was so much fun to see them all again and to meet Owen!

Newborn Photography Herndon, VA – Cameron

Baby Cameron, and his amazing hair, is here! What a sweet little guy! I’m sure every baby girl is jealous of his gorgeous, long hair. Shooting his newborn portrait was also a great opportunity to catch up with his parents, whose lovely wedding I shot in 2009. Here they are during their engagement shoot, which was one of my favorites too.

I sure hope Cameron likes football. I think his dad is sending him some not-so-subtle messages. 🙂

Washington DC Proposal Pictures – Nick and Melissa

When Nick called to ask if I’d photograph his proposal to Melissa, I was game to be in on his plan! And Melissa’s reaction didn’t disappoint! It’s such a quick moment and having a series of pictures will make sure they never forget what they were feeling at the time. All the older couples in the room (to the right and left in the image below) wanted to see the ring, of course! After we left the restaurant, we went down to the Georgetown waterfront for a few pictures of the newly engaged and happy couple.
