Published – Fall River Farm Garden Wedding

Fall always reminds me of beautiful autumn weddings at River Farm in Alexandria, Virginia.  River Farm is always a gorgeous place for a wedding, but you can’t beat a perfect fall day for an outdoor wedding.  Allison and Ben’s wedding was at River Farm two years ago on a lovely Sunday in October.  They were recently featured on Project Bride and it’s so nice to relive their special day!  Here’s a link to the whole post on the Project Bride blog, with lots of wedding day pictures.

Thanks to Angie and Project Bride for the feature!

Washington DC Family Photographer – Nate and Trent

Here’s another family I’ve been privileged to photograph as they grow.  Trent is almost two and such a big boy compared to last year.  He even sang me the whole ABC song including the little ditty that goes after the letters!  Nate enjoyed climbing on the tree roots (you just never know what will capture the attention of which child) and I love how he  perfectly posed himself in the last image.  That’s the type of image that doesn’t always happen with young kids – when the location, the pose, the expression and the light are all beautiful.  It begs to be a large canvas!   While that image stands out as the gem of the day, there are lots of great shots of these brothers.

Old Town Alexandria Photographer – Hadley and Harper

Beautiful sisters on the blog today.  More siblings that I’ve been privileged to have photographed since birth.  Hadley is four and Harper is 15 months, it’s hard to believe how fast they are growing up.  I had so much fun taking these pictures on the streets of Old Town Alexandria that I didn’t want to end the shoot.  Aren’t these girls gorgeous?? It didn’t hurt that the weather was perfect too.  And a special mention goes to mom, Layton, for successfully getting both children to smile at the same time – you have no idea how rarely this happens during a photo shoot!

Lots of sisterly love!

Washington DC Children’s Pictures – Brothers Caleb and Will

It’s time for baby Will’s debut!  His big blue eyes and sweet smile won me over.  He is a handsome boy indeed!

Big brother Caleb gaves us a bigger challenge in the smile department, but it was to be expected – it was a gorgeous day and he was outside and he’s not quite two years old.  Last year he wasn’t quite walking yet and this year we could barely keep up with him! What a difference a year makes!  Serious faces are sweet, but finding something to grab a two year olds attention so they stand still for even a moment is a challenge.  Finding a game he liked, and then the arrival of his grandparents both resulted in great smiles from Caleb.  I won’t give up until we find something that works for the pictures we want!
