Claire – Washington DC Child Photographer

Claire is two years old, and what a sweet little lady she is!  Her grandmother sent along a cute green watering can that was perfect for a garden shoot, and gave Claire something to do. Though I think the repeated suggestions to water the flowers made her thirsty.   Last time I saw Claire it was very cold, so it was nice have a more relaxed shoot on a warm summer day.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures of cute Claire with her blue eyes and strawberry blond hair.

And as usual, a big thank you to Claire’s parents for being her stylist and entertainment for the shoot!

Family Fun – Alexandria Virginia Family Photographer

Jenn and Bill are getting married very soon, and wanted to make time for family photos of their new family of four.  With Bill stationed in Korea, Jenn here working on wedding planning and the boys living in another state, being together is something to celebrate.  Aren’t Bill’s boys adorable?  A few simple props, like the stick fishing poles, allowed the boys to be boys, but we mixed in group shots too – which went better than expected with 5 and 7 year old active boys!  (Or maybe my expectations were too low since I usually work with toddlers?)  The kids really were great sports and sweet little models.  I love the last shot which looks like they are on top of a mountain, beautiful!  What that “mountain” was made of shall remain a secret…

Two Features on Engaged & Inspired Blog: Flowers and Shoes

Somehow in the busyness of the spring I neglected to highlight that Lauren & John, and Allison & Adam’s wedding flowers were featured on the wedding blog Engaged & Inspired.  Also, Melissa’s Badgley Mischka pink ruffled shoes received another mention, which they certainly deserve! Click here for the wedding flower post, and here for the wedding shoe post.  It’s so nice to see the lovely details that my clients chose highlighted in a new way!

Winter River Farm Wedding Showcased on United With Love Blog

Sherri and Mike’s winter wedding at River Farm was spectacular, I’m so glad that the Washington DC wedding blog, United With Love, chose to feature it on their blog! The post gives a virtual venue tour of River Farm and shows how 5 inches of snow completely transforms the venue. And also what the possibilites are for a small, intimate wedding at River Farm. It’s the perfect wedding spot no matter the size of the wedding or the season. Click here for the whole blog post. With temperatures soaring, it’s hard to remember that snowy January wedding day!

Favorite Venues: Springfield Golf and Country Club & The Great Room at Savage Mill

Finally, we have the Springfield Golf and Country Club and The Great Room at Savage Mill.

The Springfield Golf and Country Club in Springfield, Virginia is a beautiful space with large windows overlooking the golf course. I love a room with a view! Not to mention this is one of the only venues in the area that allow sparklers to cap off the night with a festive exit.

The Great Room at Savage Mill in Savage, Maryland has a wonderful historic feel.  And the exclusive caterer, Putting on the Ritz, makes very yummy food.  My all time favorite caterer.  In addition to this unique ballroom, there is an outdoor deck over looking a stream.
