Published in American Baby Magazine – Korean Twins!

While I consider myself a wedding and portrait photographer, occasionally I am asked to photograph other things that for various reasons don’t make it on the blog.  In this case, I was shooting for American Baby Magazine and gave them first publication rights.  The shoot was last July and the story is in the February issue out now.  It’s all about family traditions surrounding babies, that stem from other cultures.  I had the pleasure of photographing a 100 day party for Korean twin boys.  The babies were sweet as could be and didn’t mind being passed around throughout the party.  I enjoyed capturing this special celebration for a wonderful family and it’s fun to finally see the story in print!

River Farm in Alexandria Virginia – Snowy Winter Wedding

We started out at the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, VA which is such a fun hotel with all the funky colors and fabulous furniture.  
Most River Farm weddings are in the garden with a tented reception, but with a small number of guests and the tent down for the winter, River Farm is perfect for a small ceremony in the parlor overlooking the Potomac river and dinner in the ballroom.  Lighting in the parlor and the ballroom added to the ambiance of the historic location.  
Always one of my favorite wedding venues to photograph, it proved it is wonderful even in the winter. Add to this setting the celebration of a couple in love and you the irresistible combination of love and beauty. What more can a photographer ask for?

Winter Wonderland Wedding at River Farm – Congratulations Sherri & Mike!

When Sherri wished for snow on the ground for her winter wedding at River Farm in Alexandria, I didn’t believe she’d get it.  But she did and it was perfect!  Just enough to cover the ground and a beautiful cloudy sky with a tad of blue peaking through.  I absolutely adore these snowy pictures of this beautiful couple!

And what waited inside the ballroom at River Farm for the reception was spectacular as well!  It was truly transformed in to a winter wonderland.  Birch wood, crystals, white flowers, blue uplighting – Janet Flowers and Events in the City outdid themselves to pull off all that Mike and Sherri envisioned for their winter wedding day.  Because the list of my favorites from the day is way too long, here’s a sampling of the portraits in the snow and the ballroom.  Check back soon for a slideshow with lots more!

Maryland Maternity Photographer – Marie

Marie and Wesley are expecting identical twin girls!   While I wasn’t able to photograph their wedding several years ago, I was so flattered and honored that Marie called me to document the next important event in their lives.  Doesn’t Marie look beautiful (and not at all like there are TWO babies in there!)?  I can’t wait to meet little M & M!
