It was time to update the family photos, but a sudden move to Dallas, TX meant a change of plans and a search for a new photographer they thought. It just so happened I had a trip to Texas planned a few weeks later and we were able to meet up at the gorgeous Dallas Arboretum. I couldn’t believe how much these handsome boys had grown! It was fun to catch up in a new place and update the family pictures. And I so appreciate clients who love my work across the miles!
From the Hotel Monaco to the Army Navy Country Club, choosing beautiful locations as a backdrop to your wedding day is a great help to your photographer. 🙂 Then choosing a wedding gown that makes you shine as bright as the dress sparkles, add a love between a couple that can be felt, and you have the combination for a magical wedding day and the best wedding pictures.
Emily was stunning in her gorgeous sparkly flowy spaghetti strap ball gown that even spelled the word love, hidden in the sparkles. The 1957 Bentley that chauffeured the groom and his best man, and the bride and her maid of honor,from the Hotel Monaco to the Army Navy Country club was such a classy touch and made for fun memories. And as a prop for wedding pictures, it’s hard to beat. The flowers in the bouquets pulled together all the hues of lavender, purple, wine and lilac that Emily chose for the bridesmaid’s gowns. And the cake. You’ve got to scroll down and see the Capitol dome wedding cake! A choreographed first dance (perfect with Emily’s ballgown!) and a fun and fast moving hora, all led by a great live band, made for quite the joyous wedding celebration of the newly married couple. Completing the wedding day was a sparkler send off. Congratulations Emily and Eric!

Belmont Country Club is the picture perfect all in one wedding location. Jeannine and Tom had a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony under a canopy of flowers. With red roses coordinating with their FSU color theme, the university where they met, there were subtle nods to their alma matter, including the grooms Tallahassee cuff links. And they had the cutest ring bearer ever! Their dog Koda in his own tuxedo that matched all the groomsmen. Jeannine’s cathedral length veil was a classic touch with the historic mansion backdrop. They transformed the ballroom for the reception with tall flower arrangements on the tables, draping on the ceiling, and uplighting around the room. And the late night snack featured the grooms favorite treat, s’mores! These were gourmet s’mores. I didn’t know marshmallows could be so delicious! And the night of celebration ended with a sparkler exit send off of the bride and groom into their married life. Congratulations to a fabulous couple, it was an honor to by your wedding photographer!
I won’t tell you that Peter mom and I have been friends since before we were born as that would make me feel old. Peter is in the midst of the college application and selection process which is so hard to believe. He took some time out for his senior pictures in Alexandria, VA. We had a great time strolling around Old Town and even stopped for ice cream. Have a great senior year Peter!
Three evenings of senior photos on super hot summer days. But so fun to photograph these twin sisters I’ve known since before they were born! Their parents and I went to college together. We started with pictures in the sunflower field in Raleigh, NC. What a pretty (and busy) location! The next day, I found a fun places for pictures nearer their home. Some really great spots with good color and texture – and small town America is so different from where I usually work in the Washington DC, area. A refreshing change – no traffic or crowds! And we finished with pictures to remember some of the high school sports they’ve enjoyed competing in at their charter school. I’ve photographed them over the years, but this shoot was extra fun and special – and so hard to believe these beautiful girls are all grown up!
